You Are The Continuation of Christ’s Incarnation

It is September and we are into a new program year. We continue to lift up the theme of “Come and Grow with Us” into fall in our worship. September 13th is the Rally Sunday. We’ll start the day with the Fellowship Breakfast at 8:30. The morning worship will feature special participatory act of sowing seeds and watering, symbolizing our desire to grow in Spirit together in a community set on learning to walk our talk of being of the mind that was in Christ Jesus and practicing Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Door. After the morning worship people will have an opportunity to explore various ministries of our church in Ministry Fair. Invite your friends and neighbors. As I have heard someone say, we are the best secret in town. People should come and see and taste the goodness of the Lord shining through each member of our amazing community.

“Each of us is a continuation of Christ’s incarnation,” Father Thomas Keating, the founder of Centering Prayer Movement in Snowmass, Colorado has once said. Because it is no longer I but Christ that lives in me:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

The mind and Spirit of Christ growing in us lets us to be part of God’s marvelous work of redemption in the world. We desire to forgive and love unconditionally because that is what God does. We participate in God’s work of peace-making and restoration creation. An awesome privilege indeed! Come, let us rejoice and celebrate.
