Led by God, we are a diverse United Methodist Community that welcomes and reaches out to the world. Guided in love by the Holy Spirit, we practice our faith through worship, study and service; we encourage each other to do Christ’s work in our daily lives.
Our welcome knows no boundaries of age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, economic condition, physical or mental ability. We embrace and seek to preserve the beautiful, amazing diversity of God’s creation.

We are a vibrant multi-cultural community in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City with a history of service to vulnerable populations, not only in Utah, but around the world.
What To Expect
A diverse makeup of nationalities and ages will greet you in worship and other gatherings at the church. With praise and singing voices, we join hands often to pray, to bind our community together and to make the world a better place for all.
What We Offer
We offer ourselves, our stories, our listening and caring, our questions, our thoughts and feelings, our ideas, passions and commitments. We faithfully participate in the ministries of the church by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness that in everything God may be glorified.
How We Share Our Gifts
We reach around the world – young Pakistani girls are now being educated and taught sewing skills in a school building funded from FUMC member donations called The Clara Foundation.
We have helped build three of the four medical clinics run by Salud y Paz in Guatemala. In 2011, we hosted our fifth mission trip to provide desperately needed medical and dental care to the people in the rural highlands of Guatemala.
UMCOR’s (United Methodist Committee on Relief) mission is to alleviate human suffering—whether caused by war, conflict, or natural disaster—with open minds and hearts to all people. UMCOR is a global humanitarian relief and development agency of the United Methodist Church. There are two depots-one in Baldwin, Louisiana and a second one located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The UMCOR West Depot in Salt Lake City serves as a material resource warehouse to store UMCOR supply kits. The depot provides opportunities for kit ministry at churches in the Western Jurisdiction. We meet on a Saturday morning at UMCOR every other month to assemble humanitarian kits.
FUMC was one of the founders of Crossroads Urban Center, established in 1966. Members of FUMC have been active participants in the Food Pantry, Thrift Store and the Food Co-op of Utah.
FUMC was one of the eight founding churches of Family Promise, providing safe lodging and meals to homeless families within area churches at no cost to the families. As a host church, FUMC also provides transportation, companionship, support and encouragement about five weeks each year.
The mission of the Music Ministry at FUMC is to select music for worship, cultivate skills in choral singing for the Chancel Choir, provide musical opportunities for self-expression, and give positive spiritual and social support to its members. The Music Ministry also sponsors A Wesleyan Sermon Recital Series, community concerts, piano and organ recitals, and guest performances. Through music, we reach out to our diverse community in celebration, praise and worship of God’s grace and goodness.
